Bell L, et al. - The target of the researchers was to estimate the true positive (sensitivity) and true negative (specificity) rates of clinical diagnosis of Graves' disease (GD) or non-GD hyperthyroidism in contrast with the TSH receptor antibody (TRAb) test. Based on the yielded results, it was determined that the clinicians were liable to both over- and under-diagnose GD. A reduction could be achieved in the number of incorrect or unknown diagnoses in the initial clinical assessment of patients presenting with hyperthyroidism through the TRAb test.
