Clinical course of rhinosinusitis and efficacy of sinonasal evaluation in kidney transplant recipients: Review of 1,589 patients

European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Apr 15, 2018

Ryu G, et al. - Authors assessed the clinical course of rhinosinusitis after kidney transplant (KT) and gauged the effectiveness of routine sinonasal evaluation before KT. They found no increase in the prevalence and recurrence rate of rhinosinusitis in KT patients after KT. Surgical or medical treatment before KT was required by symptomatic patients, but asymptomatic patients demonstrated no deterioration of clinical course following KT. As per data, for asymptomatic patients, routine sinonasal evaluation was not recommended before KT.
