Clinical course and outcomes in patients with mooren ulcer who had cataract surgery

Das S, et al. - This study was conducted to report outcomes of cataract surgery in patients with Mooren ulcer. With adequate immunosuppression, cataract surgery in eyes with Mooren ulcer was safe and corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) improved significantly with no disease reactivation immediately after surgery. There was no proven role of maintenance immunosuppression. The type of cataract surgery had no impact on ulcer reactivation. Patients with a disease-free interval of 6 months or more before surgery and those who had scleral incisions had favorable outcomes.
