Rudy SF, et al. – The physicians wished to characterize differences in clinical characteristics between patients with laryngeal and nonlaryngeal amyloidosis. They found a significant rate (18%) of multiorgan involvement in patients with laryngeal amyloidosis. This finding contraindicates the conventional concepts that this was an isolated disorder. This data would aid in the evaluation and management of patients with laryngeal amyloidosis.
