Clinical characteristics and surgical treatments of primary hepatic angiosarcoma
BMC Gastroenterology Apr 20, 2021
Jiang L, Xie L, Li G, et al. - Researchers sought to report on the clinical characteristics and surgical treatments of primary hepatic angiosarcoma, which is a very rare and highly malignant tumor with poor prognosis. In their hospital, primary hepatic angiosarcoma was diagnosed in only four patients among a total of 8,990 patients diagnosed with primary malignant tumor of the liver from January 2000 to December 2019. Per findings, patients with primary hepatic angiosarcoma do not exhibit any typical clinical symptoms, and primary hepatic angiosarcoma is easily misdiagnosed. Structural disorder and heterogeneous tumor were the typical imaging manifestations. The prognosis of patients may improve with performing hepatic lobectomy and transarterial chemoembolization.
