Hou C, et al. - Authors gauged the clinical characteristics of infection in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients and evaluated the risk factors of infection. The abnormality of white blood cells, the high level of C-reactive protein (CRP), the low serum level of C4, and longtime hospitalization were the independent risk factors for SLE patients with infection. Researchers suggested paying attention to the risk factors of infection. In order to reduce the chance of infection, they suggested to carry out the treatment to enhance immunity.
