Clinical characteristics and related risk factors of depression in patients with early COPD
International Journal of COPD May 23, 2018
Lee JH, et al. - Researchers determined the clinical features and risk factors of depression in patients with early COPD registered in the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey database of 2014. The analysis was performed in patients with COPD whose forced expiratory volume in 1 second was 50% or more, by spirometry. Relative to those without depression, patients with depression were found to be mainly living alone and had a greater prevalence of diabetes. A significant correlation with depression severity was demonstrated only by the quality of life index. Significant risk factors for depression, as revealed in the multivariate regression analysis, included female sex, living alone, and low income.
