Clinical characteristics and prognosis of pregnancy-associated breast cancer: Poor survival of luminal B subtype
Oncology Jun 21, 2018
Bae SY, et al. - Researchers sought to explore clinical characteristics and prognosis of pregnancy-associated breast cancer (PABC) in this analysis. Study participants were 2,810 subjects with breast cancer diagnosed when they were less than 40 years of age. According to the findings obtained, PABC demonstrated lower expression of estrogen receptor (ER)/progesterone receptor (PR), higher overexpression of HER2, fewer luminal A subtype, and more triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) subtype compared to young breast cancer (YBC). Findings revealed that PABC had worse breast cancer-specific survival (BCSS), particularly luminal B subtype, compared to YBC.
