Clinical, biochemical, and serologic predictors of drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms syndrome: A prospective case–control study
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Apr 29, 2021
Choudhary R, Vinay K, Srivastava N, et al. - Researchers conducted this prospective observational study to identify the clinical, biochemical, and serologic markers predicting the drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) syndrome and its severity. Participants in the study were 25 patients with the DRESS syndrome and 25 control patients with maculopapular drug rash. The DRESS syndrome can be predicted at a presentation by a combination of total body surface area involvement, eosinophil count, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels.
