Clinical and sociodemographic characteristics associated with disease severity in juvenile recurrent respiratory papillomatosis: A study of 104 patients in a tertiary care pediatric hospital
International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Feb 24, 2018
Reyes LM, et al. - The clinical and socioeconomic characteristics of pediatric patients with juvenile recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (JRRP) were assessed by the researchers. They also evaluated the relationship of JRRP with the severity of the disease. Due to the recurrence and aggressiveness of the disease, JRRP was associated with multiple surgeries. Based on the findings it was noted that the severity of the disease was not influenced by the socioeconomic status. However, because of the increased risk of severe disease, younger patients and users of tracheostomy ought to receive a more strict follow-up.
