Trent M, et al. - Given the criticality of exploring the clinical and sexual risk correlates in defining universal standards for screening and management for Mycoplasma genitalium (MG), researchers sought to determine the baseline prevalence of MG in urban pregnant and non-pregnant young women and associated clinical risks using cross-sectional data. It was noted that MG infection was common, associated with STI co-infection and often asymptomatic. pregnancy status did not confer any protection.
