Clinical and radiological outcomes of 5-year drug-free remission-steered treatment in patients with early arthritis: IMPROVED study
Annals of Rheumatic Diseases Oct 08, 2017
Akdemir G, et al. - The 5-year outcomes of early remission induction therapy followed by targeted treatment aimed at drug-free remission (DFR) in patients with early arthritis was depicted in this study. According to the outcome obtained, five years of drug-free remission (DFR)-steered treatment in patients with early rheumatoid arthritis (RA) resulted in almost normal functional ability without clinically relevant joint damage across treatment groups. The best clinical outcomes were found in the patients who achieved early remission. No differences were noted between the randomisation arms. Sustained DFR (SDFR) is a realistic treatment goal.
