Johansen JK, et al. - Experts aimed to compare the clinical and radiological outcomes and complications following distal metatarsal metaphyseal osteotomy (DMMO) and Weil osteotomy (WO) in the treatment of metatarsalgia. Compared to WO, DMMO resulted in a comparable patient satisfaction and radiological healing. DMMO procedure had a significantly shorter duration of surgery and tourniquet times compared to the Weil procedure. Overall, DMMO appeared to be a valid alternative to the WO.
