Clinical and radiologic outcomes after medializing and not medializing rotator cuff tendon attachment site on chronic retracted rotator cuff tears
Arthroscopy May 31, 2018
Lee KW, et al. - Researchers sought to compare the clinical and radiologic outcomes of chronically retracted rotator cuff tears by arthroscopic medializing and non-medializing repair (restoring anatomic footprint and performing conventional repair). They retrospectively reviewed patients who underwent arthroscopic double-row modified Mason-Allen repair for large, full-thickness rotator cuff tears from January 2013 to July 2015. Good clinical results were obtained with a reliable medialization of approximately 10.5 mm. For repairing rotator cuff tears with chronic retracted tendons, medializing rotator cuff tendons ought to be considered as a treatment option.
