Clinical and histopathological features of nasopalatine duct cyst: A 47-year retrospective study and review of current concepts
Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery Dec 14, 2017
da Silva Barros CC, et al. - An inspection was performed of the clinical and histopathological features of nasopalatine duct cysts (NDCs) stored in the archives of a referred Oral Pathology Service over a 47-year-period. Researchers also intended to weigh the current concepts about these cysts. A more accurate data was gained through the knowledge of clinical-histopathological aspects of NDCs, in terms of their nature and behavior. The predominant epithelial lining of these cystic lesions was discovered to be exclusively stratified squamous epithelium or combined with another type. The frequently noted observations were vessels, nerves, mucous glands and inflammatory infiltrate.
