Clinical and histological features of secondary carcinomas in gastrointestinal tract biopsies
Histopathology Sep 18, 2020
Rosty C, et al. - This study was undertaken to evaluate clinical and histological features of secondary carcinomas in gastrointestinal tract biopsies. Researchers conducted a multicentre retrospective study to assess the clinical and histological features of a series of secondary carcinoma in gastrointestinal (GI) biopsies. This analysis included a total of 197 cases from 190 patients (median age = 67 years; 57% females). In GI tract biopsies, awareness of the main clinical and histological patterns of secondary carcinomas may help pathologists to raise the possibility of this uncommon diagnosis and verify it with the judicious use of immunohistochemistry.
