Clinical and genomic correlates of neutrophil reactive oxygen species production in pediatric patients with Crohn's disease
Gastroenterology Feb 22, 2018
Denson LA, et al. - This study was formulated in order to evaluate the correlations between mutations in genes encoding NADPH oxidases, neutrophil function, and phenotypes of Crohn’s disease (CD) in pediatric patients. In the study cohort, missense mutations were detected in genes that encoded NADPH oxidases. These appeared to be related to a more aggressive disease course and reduced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production by neutrophils from the patients.
