Clinical and echocardiographic predictors of outcomes in patients with pulmonary hypertension
American Journal of Cardiology Jun 21, 2018
Siddiqui I, et al. - Researchers used a cohort of patients with an established diagnosis of precapillary pulmonary hypertension (PH) undergoing transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) to assess the association of clinical and echocardiographic parameters with surrogate outcomes (six-minute walk distance) and hard outcomes (hospitalization or death) in these subjects. Findings showed that the parameters that demonstrated significant association with hospitalization or death included only the REVEAL (Registry to Evaluate Early and Long-term PAH Disease Management) risk score, RV global longitudinal strain (RVGLS) and LV systolic eccentricity index.
