Clinical and computed tomography (CT) characteristics of pulmonary nodules caused by cryptococcal infection
Infection and Drug Resistance Oct 20, 2021
Chen F, Liu YB, Fu BJ, et al. - Researchers retrospectively analyzed data from patients with confirmed pulmonary cryptococcosis (PC) in order to describe their clinical and computed tomography (CT) characteristics.
Among 47 patients, 25 (53.2%) had single nodules and 22 (46.8%) patients had multiple nodules, with similar clinical characteristics.
Relative to multiple nodules, the solitary ones were smaller, more scattered, but less necrotic.
PC should be considered as one of the differential diagnoses in cases with solitary nodules with air bronchogram or vacuole, satellite lesions, or halo sign.
