Clinical and angiographic features of patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and acute myocardial infarction
Journal of the American College of Cardiology Oct 22, 2020
Kosugi S, Shinouchi K, Ueda Y, et al. - Researchers focused on characterizing the clinical as well as angiographic characteristics of acute myocardial infarction (MI) patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) vs those without OHCA, by performing this retrospective study. Participants were 480 consecutive patients with acute MI receiving percutaneous coronary intervention. A total of 141 (29%) patients developed OHCA. The factors that were identified to be related to OHCA were: younger age, no use of calcium-channel antagonists, worse renal function, larger infarct size, culprit lesion in the left main coronary artery, and experiencing chronic total occlusion.
