Lin J, et al. - Authors evaluated the expression of programmed death ligand 1/2 (PD-L1/PD-L2) and the density of CD8⁺ tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) from gallbladder cancer (GBC) samples and assessed the link between survival prognosis and these factors. A promising independent predictor for the clinical outcome of GBC patients was seen with the analysis of the tumor immune microenvironment based on CD8⁺ TIL and PD-L1 expression. As per data, a prognostic factor for improved OS and PFS was the combination of CD8^high with PD-L1⁺.
