Raymakers-Janssen PAMA, et al. - A prospective study was conducted on using citrate in continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) in critically ill small children. The authors concluded that use of regional citrate significantly prolonged circuit survival time. They ought to increase CRRT efficiency when compared to heparin. Moreover, in critically ill small children, citrate appeared safe for CRRT.
