Kruger AJ, et al. - This nationwide cross-sectional study was performed to compare the outcomes of hospitalization for diverticulitis in patients with and without cirrhosis. In patients hospitalized for diverticulitis, the presence of cirrhosis was correlated with an increased mortality rate. These were novel findings, and future clinical studies had to focus on improving diverticulitis outcomes in this group.
