Wang Y, et al. - Via performing a meta-analysis of 19 studies, researchers assessed patients with pancreatic cancer for determining the prognostic role of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in this patient population. They noted significantly shorter overall survival and progression-free survival among CTC-positive patients vs CTC-negative patients. They thus concluded that CTCs may have clinical value as predictive biomarkers for pancreatic cancer patients before treatment.
