Circulating sortilin level as a potential biomarker for coronary atherosclerosis and diabetes mellitus

Oh TJ, et al. – Utility of plasma sortilin as a biomarker in coronary artery disease (CAD) and diabetes mellitus, was investigated in this present study. Findings demonstrated a link between elevated circulating sortilin levels and CAD and diabetes mellitus, respectively. In addition, data indicated that elevated circulating sortilin levels can be used as a biomarker of both diseases in statin–naïve subjects.
