Circulating and tissue IMP3 levels are correlated with poor survival in renal cell carcinoma
International Journal of Cancer May 24, 2019
Tschirdewahn S, et al. - Researchers compared two different IMP3 immunohistochemical antibodies with respect to their prognostic ability in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) as well as evaluated the prognostic significance of IMP3 plasma levels. IMP3 levels were assessed in 425 RCC patients. They found significantly higher IMP3 plasma and mRNA expression levels in patients vs controls and in high-grade vs low-grade tumors. Poor RCC prognosis had an independent link with high plasma and tissue levels of IMP3. The prognostic performance of analysis was significantly influenced by the applied antibody. RCC patients could be better risk stratified with IMP3 analysis.
