CircRNA CircRIMS is overexpressed in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and downregulate miR-613 through methylation to increase cell proliferation
Cancer Management and Research Jun 12, 2021
Wan H, Yuan B, Jiang K, et al. - Researchers investigated CircRIMS 'role in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). They assessed differential expression of CircRIMS and miR-613, using tissues obtained from 60 ESCC patients. For 5 years, 60 ESCC patients were observed to assess the prognostic value of CircRIMS for ESCC. Overexpression of CircRIMS in ESCC was evident, and poor survival was predicted by CircRIMS. Underexpression of miR-613 was seen in ESCC, and an inverse correlation with CircRIMS was shown by miR-613. According to findings, miR-613 downregulation may be brought about by CircRIMS, via methylation, to increase cell proliferation in ESCC.
