Chronic total occlusion intervention of the non-infarct-related artery in acute myocardial infarction patients: The Korean multicenter chronic total occlusion registry
Coronary Artery Disease Aug 10, 2018
Park JY, et al. - Researchers used the Korean chronic total occlusion (CTO) registry, which was collected prospectively from 26 cardiovascular centers since May 2007, to determine how a successful staged percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of CTO lesions in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients influence clinical outcomes. Patients were grouped in the successful CTO-PCI group (n=321) and the failed CTO-PCI group (n=101) and their clinical outcomes compared. They used the logistic regression model and performed a propensity score matching (PSM) analysis to adjust for potential confounders. Findings demonstrated that, in the Korean population, staged successful CTO-PCI in AMI patients was related to improved 1-year survival.
