Chronic tic disorders in children with ADHD
Archives of Diseases in Childhood Jan 14, 2018
Poh W, et al. - Experts coveted an inquiry with regard to the prevalence of chronic tic disorder (CTD) in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) compared with non-ADHD controls at ages 7 and 10 years. Furthermore, they aspired to figure out the additional psychiatric and functional burden of CTD in children with ADHD. Data illustrated higher CTD prevalence in children with ADHD compared with controls. Significant additional psychiatric and functional burden was brought to light. CTD was recommended for consideration in both the initial assessment and ongoing management of children with ADHD. Clinicians were also advised to target both the symptoms and the associated impairments.
