Chronic pain and health-related quality of life in women with autism and/or ADHD: A prospective longitudinal study
Journal of Pain Research Oct 27, 2019
Asztély K, et al. - Researchers examined a group of 100 Swedish females, diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and/or attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) in childhood, for the prevalence of chronic pain and its association with health-related quality of life (HRQoL). In this prospective longitudinal 16–19 years follow-up study, they commonly identified chronic pain as a comorbidity in these women. They emphasize addressing it as important in the clinic as it is associated with an already low HRQoL. The pain in some cases may reduce with treatment for ADHD.
