Journal of Anesthesia Sep 19, 2018
Oh TK, et al. - In this retrospective review, researchers explored the link between preoperative chronic hyperglycemia and postoperative acute kidney injury (AKI) occurrence following major laparoscopic abdominal surgery by analyzing medical records of diabetic patients (≥ 20 years old) who had elective major laparoscopic abdominal surgery procedures between 2010 and 2016. Findings suggested no association of preoperative chronic hyperglycemia with postoperative AKI occurrence within 3 postoperative days after a major laparoscopic abdominal surgery in diabetic patients.
