Chronic cutaneous graft-versus-host disease in children: A report of 14 patients from a tertiary care pediatric dermatology clinic
Pediatric Dermatology Mar 18, 2018
Nanda A, et al. - In view of the fact that skin is the most common organ affected in chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD), authors conducted this trial to better understand the spectrum of chronic cutaneous GVHD (cc-GVHD) in children. A diverse nature of cc-GVHD was signified herein. Results suggested lichen planus-like cc-GVHD to be most common followed by scleroderma-like and poikiloderma in classic cc-GVHD. Eczema-like and psoriasis-like cc-GVHD were included in rare variants. In 78.6% of the subjects mucosal involvement was noted, nail involvement was seen in 50%, and hair abnormalities in 43%. Complete remission was observed in 50% and mortality in 14% at median follow-up of 4.8 years.
