Chronic cough postacute respiratory illness in children: A cohort study
Archives of Diseases in Childhood Nov 22, 2017
OGrady KAF, et al. - Researchers strived to determine the prevalence of chronic cough following acute respiratory illness (ARI). Additionally, they investigated the diagnostic outcomes of children with a chronic cough. Following the development of chronic cough, post-ARI, a clinical review was required. This was particularly noted if parents reported a history of prolonged or recurrent cough. Counselling was recommended for parents of children presenting acutely to an Emergency Department (ED) with cough, with regard to the development of chronic cough, since an underlying respiratory condition was not uncommon.
