Archives of Diseases in Childhood Sep 05, 2017
OÂGrady KAF, et al. – In this prospective study, the clinicians intended to identify the prevalence of chronic cough following acute respiratory illness (ARI) in children as well as determine the diagnostic outcomes of children with chronic cough. They suggested that a clinical review was warranted particularly if patient presented with a history of prolonged or recurrent cough. Moreover, parents of children presenting acutely to emergency department (ED) with cough should be counselled about the development of chronic cough, as an underlying respiratory condition was not uncommon.
