Glennon SG, et al. - Direct and indirect associations were identified between measures of smoking exposure/nicotine dependence and altered olfaction in a nationally-representative sample of adults. The researchers found an association between chronic cigarette smoking and increased odds of self-reported olfactory alterations, directly and indirectly via olfactory-related pathologies.
