Choroidal microvascular dropout in primary angle closure glaucoma
American Journal of Ophthalmology Feb 24, 2019
Rao HL, et al. - Researchers estimated the prevalence and determinants linked to the presence of choroidal microvascular dropout (CMvD) in primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) eyes in comparison to primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) eyes. They observed CMvD in 21 POAG and 10 PACG eyes. An association of CMvD in POAG eyes was noticed with pretreatment intraocular pressure, visual field (VF) mean deviation, retinal nerve fiber layer thickness, and peripapillary vessel density. After accounting for glaucoma severity, they found an association between CMvD and POAG.
