Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology Mar 09, 2018
Bernica J, et al. - During this research, authors aspired to analyze the safety profile and feasibilty of Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatiography (ERCP) in elderly individuals. Findings revealed that the success rate was 88.5% and similar between groups. The overall complication rate was discovered to be 7.33% with no variation between the study cohort. Hence, it was deduced that cholangioscopy was feasible in the elderly and could be safely performed, displaying similar complication and admission rates as in younger patients.
