Sayeed S, et al. – Researchers planned to elucidate childhood cancer incidence by ethnic group in England, 2001Â2007. Such descriptive studies within ethnic minority groups permitted a better understanding of disease incidence within the population, in the tradition of past migrant studies. However, it also allowed for the generation of hypotheses to begin to understand why such differences might exist. In addition, the methods used had permitted the first nationwide estimation of childhood cancer by an individual ethnic group.
