Chemotherapy for gestational trophoblastic neoplasia patients with a FIGO score of 12 or greater: A multistudy analysis
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology May 26, 2019
Li J, et al. - Researchers analyzed a total of 17 eligible studies encompassing 256 patients cases of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) with an International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) score ≥12 in order to compare the reported chemotherapy regimens in these patients. The three most commonly used regimens in the first-line setting were etoposide-methotrexate-dactinomycin alternating with cyclophosphamide-vincristine (EMA/CO), etoposide-platinum alternating with EMA (EP/EMA), and floxuridine-dactinomycin-etoposide-vincristine (FAEV). Outcomes revealed comparable complete response rates using EMA/CO, EP/EMA, and FAEV in GTN patients with a FIGO score ≥12 in the first-line setting.
