Characterization of TIM-3 expression and its prognostic value in patients with surgically resected lung adenocarcinoma
Lung Cancer May 07, 2018
Su H, et al. - In patients with surgically resected lung adenocarcinoma, researchers described T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin-domain containing-3 (TIM-3) expression and its prognostic significance, using immunohistochemistry. They examined the link between clinicopathological features or clinical outcomes and TIM-3 expression. They saw TIM-3 expression in 107 (48.0%) samples. In patients with lung adenocarcinoma, a relatively high positive expression rate and special clinicopathological features of TIM-3 were reported. Further stratification of patients into different groups with distinct prognosis could be done by a combination of TIM-3 and/or programmed cell death 1 expression or CD8+ tumor infiltrating lymphocytes density.
