Characterization of retinal function using microperimetry-derived metrics in both adults and children with RPGR-associated retinopathy
American Journal of Ophthalmology Jul 29, 2021
Anikina E, Georgiou M, Tee J, et al. - Researchers conducted this prospective observational case series to examine microperimetry testing of RPGR-associated retinopathy in a cohort of children and adults. Seventy-six RPGR individuals (53 adults, 23 children) were selected and the mean follow-up period was 2.8 years. The high degree of reproducibility of results and the good interocular correlation allow this modality to precisely monitor disease progression while also supporting the validation of the use of microperimetry in evaluating the outcomes of gene therapy clinical treatment trials.
