Gharacholou SM, et al. - This study was designed to report characteristics as well as long-term outcomes of patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute coronary syndrome (ACS) due to unprotected culprit left main coronary artery disease (LMCAD). A common incidence of unprotected culprit LMCAD ACS necessitating PCI was reported, with occurrence noted in <1% of cases. Moreover, its relation to reduced survival was documented. Long-term follow-up revealed continued and similar risk of death regardless of index ACS type.
