Changes in viral suppression status among US HIV-infected patients receiving care
AIDS Nov 11, 2017
Crepaz N, et al. - In this study, researchers searched for changes in viral suppression status among HIV patients receiving care in 2014 and the extent of viral suppression among persons with infrequent care visits. As per National surveillance data, during 2014, the majority of patients in HIV care were durably suppressed. More showed improved compared with worsened viral suppression status. Sustained viral suppression was observed among some patients who had less frequent care visits. Observations revealed that even in regular care, one in 10 did not have a suppressed viral load, which suggested missed opportunities for clinical interventions to help patients achieve and sustain viral suppression.
