Choi YM, et al. – Analysts used data from Statistics Korea, to gauge recent changes in standardized thyroid cancer mortality. This study highlighted the increase in thyroid cancer mortality in Korea until 2004. Moreover, it continuously decreased until 2015. A possible association of increases in the early diagnosis of thyroid cancer, changes in exposure to risk factors, and standardization in diagnosis and treatment with the decrease in thyroid cancer mortality in Korea was noticed.
