Changes in metformin use and other antihyperglycemic therapies after insulin initiation in patients with type 2 diabetes

Pilla SJ, et al. - The practice patterns in antihyperglycemic therapy were assessed by the experts during the insulin transition in patients with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, they aspired to determine factors related to metformin continuation. Consistent with the guidelines, a vast majority of patients with type 2 diabetes continued metformin after insulin initiation. Findings demonstrated that other antihyperglycemics were frequently continued along with insulin.
