Haeggblom L, et al. - Obtaining incidence data for 2000-2016 from the Swedish Cancer Registry and analyzing tonsillar and base of tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC/BOTSCC) biopsies and medical reports from 2013-2016 in Stockholm for human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA and p16INK4a, researchers sought the HPV-prevalence and TSCC/BOTSCC incidence 2000-2016, in Stockholm and Sweden. Outcomes revealed a continuous increase in the incidence of TSCC/BOTSCC in Stockholm and Sweden, particularly after 2008; the HPV-prevalence in Stockholm During 2000-2016 was approximately 70%.
