Changes in adult BMI and waist circumference are associated with increased risk of advanced colorectal neoplasia

Gathirua-Mwangi WG, et al. - Here, researchers ascertain the connection between the change in body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) from early adulthood to the later age and the risk of advanced colorectal neoplasia (AN) and which change measure is a stronger predictor. The outcome of this study suggests that the maintaining an unhealthy BMI and WC throughout adult life may increase the risk of AN. As compared to BMI change, WC change may be a better predictor of AN.
