Cesarean birth and risk of subsequent preterm birth: A retrospective cohort study
BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Apr 14, 2021
Williams C, Fong R, Murray SM, et al. - Researchers conducted a retrospective cohort study investigating the risk of spontaneous and medically indicated preterm birth linked with mode of birth in previous term‐born pregnancy. They assessed a total of 16,340 women with first two consecutive singleton births and the first birth at term. Observations revealed correlation of term cesarean in the first stage of labor or performed prelabor with medically indicated preterm birth. Spontaneous preterm birth was observed in correlation with term cesarean in the second stage of labor.
