Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics Jan 14, 2018
Wu X, et al. - In this study, researchers assessed the effectiveness and safety of a method combining double-balloon catheter for cervical ripening and intravenous drip of oxytocin on the induction of term labor, providing the reference for clinical safety. Compared to labor induction of oxytocin, cervical dilation balloon combined with intravenous drip of oxytocin for induction of term labor proved to result in a higher vaginal delivery rate, shorter total duration of labor and did not increase the incidences of postpartum hemorrhage and neonatal infection. For induction of term labor, this method was more effective and safe.
