Cerebroplacental ratio in predicting adverse perinatal outcome: A meta‐analysis of individual participant data
BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Jun 12, 2020
Heidweiller‐Schreurs CAV, van Osch IR, Heymans MW, et al. - Via performing meta‐analysis based on individual participant data (IPD), researchers here examined if the predictive value of umbilical artery pulsatility index (UA PI) alone – standard of practice – for adverse perinatal outcome in singleton pregnancies improves with the addition of cerebroplacental ratio (CPR). Seventeen data sets for 21,661 participants were obtained from 10 centers; inclusion was performed of 18,731 of these. Among these, 3,423 (18%) participants were reported to have experienced adverse outcomes. Per analysis, there was no enhancement in predictive value for adverse perinatal outcome with addition of cerebroplacental ratio to UA PI, when assessing singleton pregnancies, irrespective of gestational age or fetal size.
